Science
We have just finished our science unit. We did a couple more explorations this week. One exploration was designing a bridge for the Billy Goats Gruff story. The children planned and designed a bridge big enough for a troll to be underneath and the billy goats to walk across the top of the bridge. Some of the bridges were successful and others were unstable, too small or broke when the billy goats walked across them. The children enjoyed the process and realised they needed to refine and redesign their ideas. One big learning from this unit is that great scientists make many, many, many mistakes. They keep trying, making mistakes and learning things. Below the children did a final scientific, observation painting on the front of their science books.
